HDTV question

Ok, i recently purchased my first HDTV. 55" LCD....Anyway, Is it just me or does HI Def make my favorite shows seem TOO real. For instance, I was watching SVU the other night, and now it seems like I'm watching a play down at the Trail of the Lonesome Pine. I guess its kind of hard to explain what im thinking here, it just seems like I'm watching something a family member taped with a camcorder now. My wife described it like every show looks like the set of a soap opera now.

Now, other than pretaped scripted shows....I absolutely love Sports and any live events.

Anyway, thoughts please.

not mine but I'm pretty sure I know what you are talkiing about. for some reason I've seen a few and they all have been 120hz tv's that have done that. I'm not sure what to tell you

This one is 240, i think im just not used to it yet. I think it's just such a good picture, im noticing more of the background and things like that, and its destracting.

I know what you are saying, I still use regular cable but when I see shows in HD, it looks almost too real. You can see the faces that much better and sometimes its not a good thing ha

Yeah, like when you see the wrinkles on the face of a chick you thought was hot. LoL

Exactly. Or you see how old some actors really are. Steve Carell and Alec Baldwin are MUCH older than I thought.
